AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PURCHASE THE NORTHEAST NEW MEXICO CORRECTIONAL FACILITY LOCATED IN UNION COUNTY OWNED BY THE TOWN OF CLAYTON.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Fifty-four million dollars ($54,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the facilities management division of the general services department for expenditure in fiscal year 2025 to purchase the northeast New Mexico correctional facility located in Union county and owned by the town of Clayton, contingent on the facility not entering into an intergovernmental services agreement with United States immigration and customs enforcement. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2025 shall revert to the general fund.
